In the dramatic storyline, the conductor has prepared a program of music from the various artistic disciplines but finds his efforts complicated by the unexpected participation of two audience members. Musical challenges between bugle and trumpet and tap dancing to ballet music are just part of the action as these two characters and the audience learn about the orchestra, it's music, and the art of listening.

A mischievous street musician finds herself thrust into the role of Mozart in this concert program for chamber orchestra. Presented by the conductor with opportunities and dilemmas similar to those faced by Mozart, the street musician slowly evolves into a modern-day Mozart. From extravagant youth to the appearance of the apocalyptic "mysterious stranger", the audience experiences Mozart's life as a musical, human adventure.

Three meddlesome spirits - Music, Noise and Silence - invade symphony hall. The concert seems doomed as Silence and Noise attempt to seize control of the orchestra. Only with the help of the audience and Music will the conductor be able to break the fierce grip of Noise and bring harmony back to the orchestra.

They have a device that they tried to attach to the conductor's podium but they were interrupted by the beginning of the concert. What are their intentions?

Three mischievous holiday spirits have their own ideas of what a holiday concert should be. As two of the spirits squabble, the orchestra is caught in the middle. To the rescue comes the spirit of "Music" leading the audience in an unusual holiday sing-a-long that breaks the grinch-like "curse of noise" and returns a holiday spirit to the concert hall.

Gundar Bigherr, guest conductor for the evening's concert, has been murdered. It is suspected that the internationally acclaimed Maestro was poisoned sometime during the break between the morning and afternoon rehearsals. There is, however, a neatly compiled list, as kept by security guards, of everyone who visited the Symphony Hall on that fateful day. The list includes orchestra members, staff, several board members, members of the press, and a mysterious "lady in red."
